Prenuvo MRI scan failed to document that on July 15, 2023, the Prenuvo MRA sequence shows abrupt focal 60% narrowing and irregularity of the proximal right middle cerebral artery (MCA); the Prenuvo 3D MRA sequence shows 60% stenosis of right MCA; and thus failure to document in the Prenuvo MRI report were departures from good and accepted radiology practices and there was a failure to timely and properly diagnose and treat the plaintiff…medicalmalpracticelawyers.com, New York Medical Malpractice Lawsuit Filed Against Radiologist And MRI Full Body Scan Company For Alleged Missed Findings Leading To Stroke, Dec 2024
Rather, the MRI report incorrectly states: “No evidence of proximal intracranial arterial aneurysm. Normal configuration of the circle of Willis. No evidence of small vessel ischemia. No worrisome intracranial lesion is identified within the brain parenchyma. The generalized brain parenchyma volume is normal for age.”
At all pertinent times, including from July 1, 2023 continuously through on or about July 15, 2023, including the actual Prenuvo Comprehensive Body Scan on July 15, 2023, and prior and subsequent thereto, defendant WILLIAM A. WEINER, M.D. breached his duty and departed from good and accepted radiology practices by failing to document in the full body MRI scan on July 15, 2023 that the Prenuvo MRA sequence shows abrupt focal 60% narrowing and irregularity of the proximal right middle cerebral artery (MCA); and that the Prenuvo 3D MRA sequence shows 60% stenosis of right MCA; and thus departed from good and accepted radiology practices, failing to timely and properly diagnose and treat SEAN CLIFFORD.
By reason of the above and as a proximate cause of the above, plaintiff SEAN CLIFFORD sustained a full-blown catastrophic stroke on March 7, 2024 in the same exact area of the brain where he had the Prenuvo scan on July 15, 2023.
According to Plaintiffs’ Board-Certified Expert Neurologist, the full body MRI Scan on July 15, 2023 failed to document crucial, life-saving medical information. SEAN CLIFFORD’S cerebral and cerebellar vasculature were incorrectly described as normal. There were worrisome areas of arterial stenosis, especially in the right middle cerebral artery, and plaintiff SEAN CLIFFORD subsequently had an ischemic infarction in the distribution of the right middle cerebral artery. This stenotic vessel could have been treated with targeted stenting or other minimally invasive measures, thereby eliminating and preventing the catastrophic stroke that plaintiff SEAN CLIFFORD suffered on March 7, 2024.
Plaintiff SEAN CLIFFORD has suffered and will sustain great pain, agony, conscious pain and suffering, injury, disability, permanent paralysis, deformity, impairments, profound neurological deficits, hospitalizations, paralysis, the need for lifetime physical and occupational and other therapies and special education, as well as mental anguish and emotional distress.
