She alleges that she was in a coma after the procedure and spent nearly three months in the ICU battling blood loss and infections…medicalmalpracticelawyers, Georgia Medical Malpractice Lawsuit Alleges Robotic Hysterectomy Went Terribly Wrong
The woman had a history of fibroids that caused pain and excessive bleeding that effected her work and every day life. She elected that the hysterectomy be performed using a surgical robot because she was told that the robotic hysterectomy would be minimally invasive and result in less pain and shorter recovery.
The woman’s Georgia medical malpractice lawsuit contends that the surgeon negligently failed to recognize and treat active bleeding, and further alleges that the surgeon negligently removed one of the woman’s ovaries. She also alleges that the hospital failed to properly maintain its medical equipment.
She alleges that she suffers from PTSD, ongoing sepsis, and has other health issues as a result.
